Welcome New Cancer Research Technician III!

812 1030 DaCosta Lab

We are very excited to welcome a new member, Xi Lei, to the team as a Research Technician III!

Xi earned a M.Sc in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Saskatchewan. She worked as a research assistant, then technician, and quickly moved up to senior technologist at St. Michael’s Hospital. Xi brings with her incomparable expertise in conducting mouse surgeries, harvesting organs, performing injections, and collecting blood. She has experience in maintaining mouse colony of genetic deficient strains, mouse breeding and genotyping, and conducting surgeries on mouse models with thrombosis, DVT, stroke and sepsis. In addition to her impressive surgical skills, Xi managed and supervised the imaging facility in her previous lab.

In a short amount of time, Xi has integrated as a member of the lab with her warm nature, her insightful contributions to scientific discussions, and her infectious laugh. We are very happy to have Xi as part of the team and we look forward to her future contributions to the preclinical program, which we already know will be profound and essential.

Welcome to the DaCosta Lab, Xi!
